FEEDING SUGGESTIONS Chickens Chickens will go crazy for mealworms. As a high protein treat, this can aid in healthy egg laying and strong shells. Lizards & Other Reptiles Mealworms are like chocolate to many lizards and reptiles, including Snakes, Bearded Dragons, Skinks, Blue Tongues and Geckos. Quantity: 3-4 per day Method: Use a small feeder container and place on a dry and secure part of the enclosure. Aviary Birds Mealworms are like chocolate to many birds, including finches & parrots. Quantity: 4-6 per bird / per day Method: Place mealworms in a feeder container (plastic bowl, tuna fish can, margarine tub) and leave inside aviary Notes: Ideal for breeding season during spring or as special treat all year round. Never feed mealworms at sub-zero temperatures. Turtles Feed mealworms to Box Turtles, Sliders, Mud Turtles & Painted Turtles. Quantity: 3-4 per day Method: Mealworms will drown quickly. We suggest hand feeding your turtle(s) using tweezers and ensuring each gets an equal amount. Alternatively use a small feeder container and place on a dry and secure part of the enclosure. Notes: Remove drowned mealworms if they enter the water. Never feed mealworms at sub-zero temperatures.
